This fall, Marriott Bonvoy members can earn bonus points on every stay, starting with their second stay. Bonus points are offered at a flat rate regardless of the cost or length of stay, making this promotion especially valuable on short, inexpensive bookings.
Earn 2,000 (or More) Bonus Points on Qualifying Stays
From Sept. 21 through Dec.15, 2022, all members will receive 2,000 bonus points on qualifying stays, but there’s a catch: the bonus is only available beginning with your second stay during the promotional period. No bonus points are awarded on the first stay, but frequent travelers will appreciate that there’s no limit to the total number of bonus points you can earn during the promotion.
As an incentive to brand-hop Marriott credit card holders will receive an additional 2,000 bonus points on each eligible stay, starting with the second brand, for a total of 4,000 bonus points. You’ll only earn this extra credit card bonus once per qualifying brand. All Marriott cards are eligible, including:
Qualifying stays are defined as points-eligible rates, which typically include all cash rates publicly available when booking directly through Marriott channels, including the official website, app or by phone. Award bookings and bookings made through third-party websites that do not normally earn points are ineligible for this promotion.
The vast majority of Marriott brands are participating in the promotion, though a few specialized and/or time-share brands are excluded. Unfortunately, stays at Homes & Villas by Marriott International, Marriott Executive Apartments®, owner-occupied weeks at Marriott Vacation Club®, Marriott Grand Residence Club®, Sheraton Vacation Club®, Westin Vacation Club®, The Ritz-Carlton Club®, St. Regis Residence Club® and Luxury Collection Residence Club are not eligible for bonus points.
Registration is required no later than Dec. 1, 2022. The initial 2,000 bonus points per stay should post to your account within seven business days after check-out, but the credit card brand bonus may take up to six weeks after the end of the promotion to post to your account.

What Are the Bonus Points Worth?
Forbes Advisor values Marriott Bonvoy points at 0.74 cents per point, based on data independently collected from thousands of Marriott redemptions in domestic and international vacation destinations.
Based on that valuation, the 2,000 bonus points are worth $14.80. Cardholders who earn 4,000 bonus points per stay will be receiving a bonus valued at $29.60.
Since the bonus is a flat rate regardless of where you stay, that makes the bonus relatively substantial on inexpensive stays. A one-night stay at a $100 hotel would earn the same number of bonus points as a seven-night stay costing $2,000.
Other Ways To Earn on Marriott Stays
In addition to the bonus points offered through this promotion, members still earn Marriott Bonvoy points through normal means.
Base points are accrued at a rate of 10 Bonvoy points per dollar spent on eligible hotel charges (some extended stay brands, such as TownePlace Suites, only earn a base rate of 5 points per dollar). Elite Bonvoy members will earn 10% to 75% more points, depending on elite status level. Additionally, credit card holders who pay with their Marriott credit card can earn up to 6 points per dollar spent at Marriott-family hotels, depending on the terms of their specific card.
These points are in addition to the promotional bonus points and can lead to large total earnings. Consider this sample stay from a Titanium member staying for one night at a Fairfield Inn costing $100 as their second stay during the promotion and charging the purchase to their Marriott Bonvoy Brilliant card. In this example, they’d earn a total of 6,350 Bonvoy points, valued at nearly $47:
- 1,000 Base points
- 750 Elite Member points
- 600 Credit Card points
- 4,000 Promotional points
As you can see, this results in a great value on inexpensive stays. Someone making many cheap, one-night stays during the promotional period could see their balance increase significantly.

Though this promotion doesn’t reward members who only make a single stay during the stay period, the bonus points are a nice perk for anyone staying twice or more. For credit card holders who brand hop, it’s even sweeter. Registering only takes a minute, so add it to your account now before you forget about the offer.
