Scaling up sustainable infrastructure investment by leveraging private sector participation

The recording is now available for ‘Scaling up sustainable infrastructure investment by leveraging private sector participation’.

On 19 January, the Global Infrastructure Hub hosted a seminar in collaboration with the G20 Infrastructure Working Group (IWG) on ‘Scaling up sustainable infrastructure investment by leveraging private sector participation’.

The seminar brought together stakeholders from the public and private sectors, providing them with a platform to share their work and perspectives on how we can best address gaps in infrastructure investment. The meeting was opened by Wempi Saputra, the Assistant of Minister for Marco Economy and International Finance in the Ministry of Finance of Indonesia. The session continued with a presentation by the secretariat of the Sustainable Finance Working Group (SFWG).

In the second session, representatives from the Global Infrastructure Hub presented the status of sustainable infrastructure investment and private sector participation which included a discussion around investment trends and issues related to the participation of the private sector in sustainable infrastructure investment. In the following session, Meridiam, I-Squared, SMBC, and China-Africa Development Fund presented the private investor perspectives on the gap in scaling up sustainable infrastructure investment.

We look forward to progressing the outcomes of this meeting and supporting the G20 Indonesia Presidency 2022 in fostering inclusive long-term sustainable growth.
