Union Bank® Business Secured Visa® Credit Card* vs. Wells Fargo Business Secured Credit Card*
The Wells Fargo Business Secured card tops our list of secured business credit cards for its unlimited 1.5% cash back per dollar spent on qualifying purchases or earn 1 point per dollar and receive 1,000 bonus points when the company spend is $1,000 or more in any monthly billing period, lack of an annual fee and lack of foreign transaction fees. The Wells Fargo Business Secured also offers up to 10 employee cards at no extra cost and offers a minimum deposit as low as $500 (or as high as $25,000). When weighed against the Union Bank Business Secured Visa, it’s no wonder the Wells Fargo Business Secured is the no-contest winner.
Union Bank® Business Secured Visa® Credit Card* vs. Business Edition® Secured Visa® Credit Card*
The First National Bank of Omaha Business Edition Secured Visa charges a $39 annual fee and offers no reward earning. The card’s only redeeming qualities are its much higher deposit maximum of $110,000—but the catch is that a 110% deposit is required for any given line of credit, so that $110,000 deposit secures only a $100,000 line of credit or the minimum security deposit of $2,200 only secures a $2,000 line of credit. The issuer advertises deposits may earn interest, but this interest more than likely won’t keep up with inflation.
The FNBO Business Secured Card does have $0 fraud liability but otherwise lacks meaningful benefits beyond a small handful of convenience features. The Union Bank Business Secured Visa card is a winner except for those seeking a significantly higher credit limit who have the cash to back it up.
Union Bank® Business Secured Visa® Credit Card* vs. Bank of America® Business Advantage Unlimited Cash Rewards Secured credit card*
The Bank of America® Business Advantage Unlimited Cash Rewards Secured credit card* requires a minimum $1,000 deposit but earns 1.5% cash back on all purchases and has an annual fee of $0. The card also delivers a suitcase of travel benefits, including $100,000 in travel accident insurance, an auto rental collision damage waiver, emergency ticket replacement, lost-luggage assistance and medical referrals on the road and really packs it in with purchase protection against loss, damage theft or fire as well as extended warranty coverage.
With its lack of an annual fee alone, the Bank of America® Business Advantage Unlimited Cash Rewards Secured credit card* is a better choice than the Union Bank Business Secured Visa. It matches both the collision damage waiver and $0 fraud liability benefits, provides a pile of other benefits and offers rewards better than many unsecured cards. We understand credit cards don’t have legs, but if they did the Union Bank Business Secured Visa still wouldn’t have one to stand on in this match up.
