Watch Chase Sui Wonders Get Ready for the ‘Bodies Bodies Bodies’ Premiere

If you think actors don’t get nervous before a big movie premiere, think again. At least Bodies Bodies Bodies star Chase Sui Wonders does. Before the New York premiere of her film—which follows a group of wealthy friends at a remote mansion who must solve an unexpected murder—the star allowed Vogue in on her getting-ready process, and it began with some good old classic nerves. “Dear whatever heavenly higher power that reigns above, please grant Bodies Bodies Bodies with a successful opening weekend,” she prayed at a candlelit shrine. “And make sure we look amazing on the red carpet tonight.”

Wonders says every red-carpet glam process begins with one thing: “copious, copious” amounts of caffeine. “During all the press [for this film], I had one latte, one chai latte, and one shot of espresso,” she says. “I’ll probably have an energy drink to cap it off.” Delicious lattes aside, she also always engages in a meditation ritual. “Anyone who has to be around me when I haven’t been in a meditative state for at least five minutes is unlucky,” says Wonders.

After centering herself—and a quick cameo from boyfriend Charles Melton on FaceTime—it was then time for glam. Hairstylist Blake Erik and makeup artist Gita Bass created an effortless, Parisian-inspired look, including a tousled updo. “It’s modern Bardot, but not as big,” says Erik. Stylist Thomas Carter Phillips then dressed the star in a black Miu Miu minidress “that is both conservative and sexy, scandalous and reserved,” says Wonders, pointing to the frock’s plunging sheer neckline.

Once prepped and ready, the actor then popped a stress gummy, did some aromatherapy, and crushed one more Red Bull before heading out the door to the paparazzi-filled red carpet—finally reuniting with the rest of her cast with high energy and even higher style.
